Thursday told you what kind of week the market thinks this is: 54.5 was the top total and it flew over. That matters for how we're betting the rest of the slate — when the books lean into scoring, the value tends to slide toward points and toward the sides nobody's talking about. Here are our picks, one game at a time, then the five we like most, then the props.
Five best bets, with the reasoning
1. Jaguars +2.5 at Broncos
Denver's defense at home is the reason this line is short, and it's a good reason — but 2.5 means we're getting the hook and a field goal with a Jacksonville team whose quarterback is drawing early-season MVP mentions. When a defense-first home team can only lay a field goal, the market is telling you it respects the road offense. Give us the points; we think this is a one-score game either way.
2. Colts +6.5 at Chiefs
This is a bet on the number and the clock, not on Indianapolis winning in Kansas City. The Colts' identity is a run game that shortens games, and short games keep touchdown dogs alive. Kansas City laying almost seven at home is the market trusting the Chiefs to be the Chiefs again; we'd rather have the points until they prove it against a team built to grind.
3. Under 39.5, Eagles at Titans
The lowest total on the entire board is 39.5, and low totals are low for a reason: a heavy road favorite that would rather run and a home offense that isn't scaring anyone. Philadelphia up a touchdown late becomes a clock-killing operation, and clock-killing is how unders cash. We'll take the number.
4. Dolphins +13.5 at 49ers
San Francisco is the biggest favorite of the season, and it's laying that number after losing a receiver for the long term. Thirteen and a half points is two scores; in the NFL, two-score margins are the exception, not the rule, and a short-handed favorite is exactly where big spreads get backdoored. We're not picking Miami to win — we're saying it only has to keep it within two scores, and that's a live bet.
5. Panthers -2.5 at Falcons
One of the only road favorites on the board, which means the market did the work for us: it looked at both teams and made the visitor the pick anyway. When the books hang a road favorite in a division-adjacent spot, we tend to trust it. Lay the field goal with Carolina.

Player props we'd play
Prop numbers vary book to book and move fast, so we're giving you the play and the logic — check the current line before you fire.
- Christian McCaffrey — anytime touchdown (49ers). When San Francisco is a two-touchdown home favorite, the offense runs through its back near the goal line. Biggest favorite on the board plus a workhorse role is the cleanest anytime-TD spot of the week.
- Jonathan Taylor — over his rushing yards (Colts at Chiefs). If Indianapolis is going to keep this within a touchdown, it's by running, and a game script that keeps the Colts grinding is exactly the one that pushes his volume over the number.
- Ja'Marr Chase — over his receiving yards (Bengals at Texans). A near pick'em means the Bengals will be throwing to keep pace, and Cincinnati's offense funnels targets to Chase at a rate few defenses can take away.
- Trevor Lawrence — under his passing yards (Jaguars at Denver). We like the Jaguars to cover with points, but Denver's secondary at altitude is where passing lines go to die. Take the side and the under on his volume.
- Eagles–Titans — first half under. If you like the game under, the cleanest version is the first half, before any garbage-time scoring can muddy a 39.5 total that expects a slow start.
